Ben has been providing counseling services to clients since 2012. Ben started his work as a counselor with adolescents in the criminal justice system. He has since worked with both adolescents and adults in private practice and secured residential facilities. He trained as a counselor at Texas State University and was awarded a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Counseling in 2012. Prior to studying to become a counselor, he had a career in retail management, working for multiple major retailers. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Textiles and Apparel.
Ben is experienced at utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients deal with anxiety and depressions in outpatient and impatient settings. He. Ben has also helped multiple people work through issues related to sexuality, pornography addiction, sex addiction, esteem, and relational conflict. Besides individual and family therapies, he is skilled at conducting group therapy and psychoeducational groups. He also has experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system in multiple locations in Texas. He has worked with adults, adolescents, and children. His goal for every client is to live a happier and healthier life.
Ben is presently focused on his practice growth at Johnston Counseling and Wellness and contract work with the government. He is available for day, night, and weekend appointments.
